A retired community health worker, formerly known as Aid Post Orderly (APO) who actively served the Morobe Provincial Administration for 47 years was aggrieved about the amount he received as his final entitlement after he retired from active duties in 2015.
In October 2019, he complained to the Ombudsman Commission to have the Provincial Administration recalculate his final entitlement.
With the assistance of the Department of Personnel Management (DPM), the APO’s final entitlement was re-calculated and confirmed that in his final entitlement, he was grossly underpaid by K20,603.86. The endorsed calculation from DPM was then forwarded to the concerned Provincial Administration, which undertook to settle the outstanding payment accordingly.
After the Commission’s intervention, the APO’s outstanding of K20,603.86 was settled on 21 June 2023.
