OC Helps Teacher Recover 5 Years Unpaid Salary

A teacher from Bekut Primary School complained to the Ombudsman Commission after being off-pay for five years, from 2017 to 2021. The Commission intervened, registering her case and ensuring her reinstatement. As a result of the Commission’s intervention, the teacher received a backdated payment of K56,360.79, which covers the period from 2021 to 2023.

The remaining outstanding amount will be addressed at the conclusion of the resumption exercise by the Education Department.
