A primary school teacher complained of allegedly being suspended from payroll since 2018 and lodged a complaint to the Ombudsman Commission on 26 November 2020.
The teacher went for two years of studies in March 2018 at the University of Goroka and completed his studies in the year 2020. The teacher claimed that he resumed teaching duties at Tufi Primary School in January 2020.
The Ombudsman Commission commenced its full investigation into Oro Provincial Administration on 13 May 2021. Further Enquiries and feedback were made with the Oro Provincial Administration.
On 11 January 2023, the Commission was informed through the Division of Education – Oro that the teacher was reinstated on payroll in 2021 and he was put on payroll until 2022 and 2023.
The Oro Provincial Education Division has informed the Commission that the teacher has been reinstated on payroll with a copy of the pay slip attached.
