School Head Teacher Receives Reimbursement Payment For Leave Entitlement

A primary school head teacher from Pomio District, East New Britain Province complained to the Ombudsman Commission that he was not paid his leave entitlement reimbursement after paying for transport costs for him and his family to and from Pomio.

The Commission assisted by referring the matter to the East New Britain Provincial Education Division and entered into case conference dialogues with the relevant officers.

In December of 2021, the Commission was advised that the East New Britain Provincial Education Division had reimbursed and paid K6000.00 to the complainant. The teacher expressed his satisfaction to the Commission for ensuring his leave entitlement was paid by the East New Britain Provincial Education Division.
