OMBUDSMAN COMMISSION
OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA
The Ombudsman Commission of Papua New Guinea is an independent constitutional institution established by Section 217 of the Constitution to promote good governance and quality leadership in Papua New Guinea.
The functions of the Commission are provided under Section 219 of the Constitution, and these functions are further expanded and enabled by two (2) important Organic Laws, these being the Organic Law on the Ombudsman Commission (OLOC) and the Organic Law on the Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership (OLDRL).
The OLOC deals with the traditional Ombudsman function of ensuring that the Governmental Bodies are responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, while under the provisions of the OLDRL, the Ombudsman Commission supervises the enforcement of the Leadership Code, which guides the leaders in the performance of their responsibilities.
The Commission is undergoing a major restructure and we are advertising vacancies for interested
applicants who are qualified, experienced and highly motivated with the personal drive to produce
